Letter from our President, Regina Rodriguez, about recent and upcoming events for the ACAE

Message from our President,

Regina Rodriguez, PhD

As the incoming president of the organization, I am very humbled to serve a professional team of engineers who have dedicated their careers to excellence and serving the Cuban-American community here in the states.  Honor the Past, excel at the Present, and Prepare the Future of our Association and Profession while promoting our values of honor, integrity, liberty, and professional excellence.

I would like the organization to focus on three big ideas and these are some of the board’s priority list for the coming year: 1. Become a leading engineering professional organization, 2. Increase membership across various engineering disciplinesand 3. Increase revenue generating opportunities. We plan to accomplish this by creating robust working committees with clear goals, engaging young engineers from key regions in the state and target companies for membership recognition.

We have started this process we  will be presenting the results and progress of one of our committees with the effort to expand the membership recognition. This will be achieved by recognizing several leading engineers in the field at our upcoming Gala. Our Gala will be held on Saturday March 21stat 7:30PM at the Miami Airport Hilton and tickets are now on sale for $90. Another very exciting event is the Cuba Infrastructure Student Competition which will be held on April 4that FIU with free admission.

Overall, I think we have a lot of future to be excited about and I am very thankful for each and every one here and your contributions to our organization.
